What would you like to know? I was in contact with the vocalist Buttz for quite sometime. I did an interview with his that Ashliegh posted on his own site and will be in an upcoming thing from me someday.

New guy on the site "Blittz" knew him from years ago, as he himself was also in a band from the time period that you may have seen us mentioning called Soho Roses.

Welcome to the site Souled! Marionette had a song called "Gettin' Sticky", but I don't remember The Babysitters doing one. Maybe live, as they were best buds with Marionette?

It's one of the great regrets of my life that I never got to see the 'Sitters. I have the records, I have the video, I saw the Idols LOADS of times and they were amazing, but the 'Sitters I missed out on. Gutted.
Hope Buttz is OK, he's a great bloke and deserved much greater success than he achieved.

That was a great site, and she even had done up a whole CD-R of all the stuff they recorded. Unfortunatley by the time I found the site she had let it die. The girl running it was named, I think Rene Gordon, or something like that.

The 'Sitters were more "infamous" than anything else, and it was mainly due to Buttz. Read the Wrathchild thread below for a little insite as to what Buttz was like. The man is still a bit of a loon. He now runs an antique shop somewhere in the UK.

The Sitters sound was similar to 63, from what I have heard of you guys. It was a VERY tongue in cheek RnR that was heavily influenced by the 70's punk scene. The main "Glam" about them was the look that they ran with. Buttz was kind of an "Elvis" style vocalist. His lyrics ranged from the brilliantly whitty, to the brilliantly stupid! I say that, because even when they were bad lyrics, he knew it, and he flaunted it.

When I finally got my hands on The Babysitters stuff, I was a little disappointed. I was expecting something more pure RnR and not so "punky" and "jokey". But they grow on ya, and Buttz is a riot. He later perfected his "schtick" with The Last Of The Teenage Idols, which is one of the greatest albums ever recorded, IMO.

They were a club band that always drew, as you never knew what to expect, accept for a good time.

Buttz stresses to get ahold of the "Live From London" video, as that is the best that they ever sounded.

I get the feeling that even if you hated them on vinyl, you would LOVE them live. I get the idea you would love them no matter what Markii.
